Chickens!

So yesterday my Mom, Matty and I went to Lauren's house.  Lauren has recently acquired 8 chickens so I was excited to see what Matty would do with them...  He was very excited by them and followed them around Laurens yard.... It was very cute!  However his favorite spot of Lauren's yard was a small pile of gravel that they had actually put down the day before.  He just sat there and poured the gravel from hand to hand and threw it all over the sidewalk (sorry Laur!)...  However the fun ended when he secretly found some fresh dirt near the gravel and took a huge huge handful to the mouth!

So I thought that Matty was just playing nicely in his room while I was getting some stuff done around the house.... 

This is what I found when I went to check on him!

I guess now that he is walking he just thinks he can climb on stuff too!  lol too funny had to share! 

Now time to make homemade Pesto!  I'll post if it turns out yummy! 

Matty Walking

So Matty has become a walking maniac!  It's so funny how for months everyone has been saying that he'll walk this day or next week....or while he's with me.... lol  Well as soon as he figured it out he's non stop!  It was also crazy how it started with a couple steps and then within a week or so he was full on walking across our house...  Before I know it he'll be running ( he tries while pushing objects).  So here's a video I took this morning.  I've been trying to get a video for the last week but every time I try he decides to sit down and stare at me.  And even in this video he gets distracted with his toy and stops for a minute. 

Marin Special Salad

So I promised Heather I would post this salad that my mom made the other night!  It is delicious... well Joey didn't like it but big surprise!  Lol   I love the dressing and took the left overs home and used the dressing to make a yummy pasta salad!  So here's the recipe...

Marin Special Salad

1 cup Walnuts

2 Tbs. Butter

1/4 Cup Sugar

1 Tbs. coarse Ground Pepper

8 ounces baby greens (well chilled)

3/4 cup dried cranberries

1/2 lb. feta cheese, crumbled

Dressing:

2 tsp. sugar

2 cloves garlic

1 tsp. dried oregano

1/2 red onion, cut up

1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper

1/2 cup red wine vinegar

1 cup parsley (about 1/2 bunch)

1 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Melt the butter in a saute pan, add walnuts and saute over medium heat for about five minutes, being very careful not to let them burn.  Meanwhile, mix the sugar and caoarse ground pepper in a bowl; add the walnuts when they are done.  Put all dressing ingredients in a blender and whirl until all are well intergrated.  Mix all salad ingredients and toss well with dressing.    

PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME AND REFRIGERATE!

Matty in the Pots & Pan Cupboard!!

So yesterday I was trying to make Chicken Florentine (messed up on the sauce a bit... great chicken though!- Thanks Heather)  and I grabbed a pan out of the cupboard....  The next thing I know I turn around and see this!

So I decided to see what comes of this and I allow him to keep removing all of my pans and bowls and such!  I was cracking up as he'd take out one bowl and replace it with another.  He kept taking things out and putting them back.  Then I also noticed that he was also saving some items in his crate that he loves to push around.

 He then pushed the crate into the living room and decided to take out those very important items and leave them there!!!  Joey came home to find my cutting board in the living room!  lol

This next pic is when he realized I was watching him.... It took awhile!

MATTY'S FIRST HAIR CUT!!

So Joey and I decided to give Matty his first haircut…Matty had a lovely Justin Beiber look going on which was cute but getting a little out of control! We had decided on a Mohawk… I watched sadly as Joey took the clippers to the first piece of his hair… and then before I knew it there wasn’t a Mohawk at all but Matty ended up with a buzz cut!  AHHHH my little boy!  Oh well… at least he’ll be cooler… I guess :( Actually I think he looks very cute…just like a little toddler should… so here are the pics to prove it!
